1953 Wang Chuan was born on the 17th of October in Chengdu,Sichuan,China.
Accepted by the Department of Chinese Paintings, Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts
“experience” life and paint.
In October,moves to Shenzhen, art editor of “Modern Photography
Magazine”.
Sets up “modern Decoration Magazine”, vice editor-in-chief and editor for arts and photography.
Locates the beginning in painting, studies oil painting and ink painting, works are “Hanged Coffin”,“Music Unhearible” and “Developing”etc.
Organizes the first street exhibition—“o”in Shenzhen, the participants are 30 artists graduated from arts academies and schools, they refuse to get their works shown in Shenzhen Museum of Arts;then published with full newspaper on Shenzhen Youth News; they are mentioned by the intellectual circles.
In June, sets up Chinese Artists Union in Special Zone, with Wang Guangyi.
In August, National’85 Arts Thoughts with Slide Symposium, he is representative of the Shenzhen “o” Exhibition.”
In May, is planning to set up the first avant-garde hamlet, but fail soon.
In July, resign from his post; lives by his hands as a temporary worker; and alone, begins his ink paintings.
Many times goes to Guizhou as a decorator, makes products advertising, publishes advert is ment magazine.
Becomes member of Chinese Artists Association. In July, exhibition “Aspetti della Pittura Cinese Contemporanea”, Ferrara Art Museum, Italy (5 ink paintings).
In August, solo exhibition for ink paintings, China Gallery, China Museum of Art, Beijing.
In December, “Words, Words, Words”, Hanart 2 Gallery, H.K.(group exhibition of Fung Ming-chip and Wang Chuan etc.) Wins honorable prize for arts of Shenzhen.
In February, “Chinese Avant –Garde” at China Museum of Art, Beijing (group of 4ink paintings). “Words, Words, Words”, Hanart (Taipei) Gallery, Taiwan (group of Fung Ming-chip Wang Fangyu, Wang Chuan and Hung Tung).
In May, “Blackness”,Hanart 2 Gallery,H.K.(group of Gu Qenda, Wang Chuan, YangJie-chang and Xhang Jianjun)
In July, “Blackness”, Hanart(Taipei) Gallery, Taiwan(same mentioned above).
In September, does a large acrylic painting” strategy in Red” and others for Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre. Collected into “China Fine Arts Yearbook 1949-1990”and “who’s who of Contemporary Artists”.
On 9th of February, begins to paint series paintings” Locus”(24 paintings acrylic),the main works are “Ultimate Concern” ,“Wall” and “Basic Rights”etc.
In April, his first solo show overseas, Hanart Gallery Inc. New York, USA (ink paintings).

December to January next year,“ Wang Chuan—Blackness” at Shenzhen Museum by the Salon of Shenzhen Museum and Hanart 2 Gallery (H.K.), with acclaims warmly.
In May, leaves Shenzhen.
In June,Lu Peng writes“Wang Chuan—Beginning to Primitive”.
In July “Chinese Arts Data Show since 1989”, Chinese Paintings Institute, Beijing.
Collected into “history of Modern Chinese Arts:1979-1989”(by Lu Peng and Yi Dan);lives in Chengdu; makes ten-year plan and sets out to produce black and white series“ Store of Time”.
